• God, grant me the courage to overcome the anxieties of emptiness and meaninglessness;

• And the depression that lies beneath.

• Let me experience your real presence as Mentor and Model, Guide and Teacher;

• And give me the courage to participate.

•                   God grant me the courage to overcome the anxieties of fate and death;

•                   And the dread that lies beyond.

•                   Let me experience your real presence as Promise Keeper and New Being;

•                   And give me the courage to separate.

•  

•                                    God grant me the courage to overcome the anxieties of guilt and shame;

•                                    And the anger that lies within.

•                                    Let me experience your real presence as Healer and Vindicator;

•                                    And give me the courage to accept acceptance.

•  

•                                                       God grant me the courage to overcome the anxieties of displacement and estrangement;

•                                                       And the sense of abandonment the lies behind;

•                                                       Let me experience your real presence as Rescuer and Gatherer;

•                                                       And give me the courage to trust and be trusted.
